American Oi! ha recensito “Apoi!calypse” 7″ EP

The Unborn - Apoi!calypse 7" EP

Originally released on cassette in the summer of 2017, “Apoi!calypse” – the second release by Italian horror-skins The Unborn – is finally out on vinyl!

It took a while, to say the least, but as I already wrote in my review on the tape-version of this EP, both the music and artwork deserved a transmission to vinyl, so I am glad that it came out after all!

Because despite that cassettes are a neat, often needed format, nothing beats its bigger, stronger brother – vinyl. Obviously this is the case with “Apoi!calypse” as well. The artwork by Giorgio Santucci is larger so it can be fully appreciated, while the glooming, apocalyptic Oi! music of these masked annihilators is delivered in its full weight!

Obviously I already wrote about the music of “Apoi!calypse” in my previews review, which you can read here. In addition I can tell you that I still enjoy the four songs of this EP very much and even better than before, thanks to the fact that it’s now out on vinyl.

No less than five labels – Skinhead Sounds!, Oi! The Nische Records, Rusty Knife Records, Tuscia Clan and Anfibio Records – were involved in the production of this release, so take a pick and grab yourself a copy today! Tomorrow might be too late…

Angels with Dirty Faces

Live report of Distruggi La Bassa 2018

The Unborn (band)

Live report of “Distruggi La Bassa 2018” by Radio Punk:

We go back to the booze stage, i.e. inside the bar, where the band dress up and perform their simple and effective street punk. Horror, science fiction, noir and thriller movie subjects go hand in hand with their particular style. It was the last concert of The Fog, and we wish him the best!

Distruggi La Bassa 2018: altre foto + nuovo live report!

Distruggi La Bassa 2018: fotografie + live report

Smash The Discos webzine: Spotlight on The Unborn / Apoi!calypse review

tmp

La webzine Smash The Discos ci dedica il suo spazio “Spotlight on…” e recensisce la cassetta EP Apoi!calypse, che sarà presto ripubblicata in formato 7″ EP!

Smash The Discos webzine has dedicated its “spotlight” column to us and has reviewed Apoi!calypse tape EP! Please remember that “Apoi!calypse” is being reissued on 7″ vinyl within the next few months!

Spotlight on… The Unborn!

The Unborn are a horror Streetpunk band from central Italy. The Apoi!calypse album is 4 solid tracks of hard hitting punk and Oi influenced jams. The guitar work is heavy on the crunch, harmonizing at the right moments, then breaking off into beefed up riffs. As the album plays on, the heaviest parts of each song hit even harder by a fierce delivery of aggressive vocals and pounding drums. This album is sung in Italian, but for those who only speak English, it shouldn’t be a problem at all. The album flows so well, it’s worthy of the listening to.

1) La Notte dei Morti Viventi – Night Of The Living Dead 2) Hanno Cambiato Faccia – They’ve Changed Faces 3) They Live 4) The Shape

I’ve always liked horrorpunk that taps into classic horror flicks. Even if horrorpunk isn’t your thing, or if non English albums aren’t either, try giving these guys a spin anyway. They have a powerful presence off their own that may agree with your ears.

Check em out at The Unborn Bandcamp and The Unborn Facebook Page. Apoi!calypse is available now on cassette, but is being released on 7″ vinyl within the next couple of months. Ok!
